A Delta Airlines flight from New York to Tel Aviv was evacuated at Ben Gurion Airport after an anonymous bomb threat was received. Security teams searched the aircraft and found no suspicious items or explosives. The incident occurred a week after a Flydubai co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain on a flight to Tel Aviv. ## Previous incident The bomb threat on the Delta flight occurred a week after a Flydubai co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain on a flight to Tel Aviv. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on that previous incident, attributing it to 'Islamist radicalisation'. The Flydubai flight was diverted to Saudi Arabia and landed safely due to the intervention of two off-duty pilots travelling on board. Reports suggest the co-pilot had previously been flagged for holding radical views. ## What the coverage left out None of the left-rated reports mention the Flydubai co-pilot's alleged radical views or his previous flagging for holding such views. None of the centre-rated reports mention the Flydubai co-pilot's alleged radical views or his previous flagging for holding such views. None of the right-rated digests mention the Flydubai co-pilot's alleged radical views or his previous flagging for holding such views. ## Who covered it Shares of the 32 covering outlets with a published leaning rating: - Left: 16% (5) - Centre: 28% (9) - Right: 56% (18) 45 of 77 covering outlets carried no usable leaning rating and were excluded from those percentages. Metro News and aljazeera.net both mentioned the previous Flydubai incident, with Metro News detailing the alleged hijacking attempt and the Prime Minister's comments on 'Islamist radicalisation'. IndexHR also reported on the bomb threat and evacuation. ### Centre - Centre-rated reports highlighted the bomb threat, the evacuation, and the subsequent security search. Extra.ie and dailymail.com noted the anonymous nature of the threat and that nothing was found. Aerotime.aero and Hindustan Times also reported on the incident, with Hindustan Times providing a 'what we know so far' summary. Il Messaggero and Internewscast covered the bomb alert and evacuation. ### Right - Right-rated reports focused on the bomb threat and the evacuation of the Delta flight. WIN, Times of India, and Origo all reported the core facts of the incident. Protothema and Arutz Sheva mentioned the security checks and isolation of the aircraft. Security teams searched the aircraft and found no suspicious items or explosives. **Was there a previous similar incident?** Yes, the bomb threat occurred a week after a Flydubai co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain on a flight to Tel Aviv. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on that incident, attributing it to 'Islamist radicalisation'. **What was the outcome of the security search?** Security teams conducted a thorough search of the Delta aircraft after the evacuation. They found no suspicious items or explosives on board, indicating the threat was likely false. --- MediaBias News — https://mediabias.news.
