Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine received 24 Patriot interceptor missiles from the United States over the past 90 days. Zelensky made these statements in an interview with ABC News. He stated that Ukraine needs approximately 350 Patriot missiles each month to counter Russian ballistic missile attacks. Zelensky also drew a comparison to the Middle East, where he claimed partner nations delivered about 2,000 missiles during the first 84 hours of a recent conflict. ## Disagreement on the context of Middle East missile delivery Novinky.cz reported that Zelensky stated that in the first two days of a war that the US and Israel started against Iran on February 28, American partners fired about 2,000 Patriot missiles. Kyiv Post reported that Zelensky stated that during the first 84 hours of armed escalation in the Middle East, forces fired roughly 2,000 partner-supplied interceptors to defend airspace. ## What the coverage left out None of the left-rated reports mentioned the specific date of 22 October for Russian ballistic missile attacks against Ukrainian territory, a detail included in the Kyiv Post report. The right-rated report did not mention Ukraine's monthly need for approximately 350 Patriot missiles, nor did it include the comparison to Middle East missile deliveries. No centre-rated outlet covered this story. ## Who covered it Shares of the 8 covering outlets with a published leaning rating: - Left: 63% (5) - Centre: 0% (0) - Right: 37% (3) 12 of 20 covering outlets carried no usable leaning rating and were excluded from those percentages. Novinky.cz, Kyiv Post, United24, and unn.ua all highlighted that Ukraine had received only 24 Patriot missiles in the last 90 days. Kyiv Post and United24 also emphasised the disparity between this figure and the 2,000 missiles delivered to the Middle East in a shorter timeframe. Kyiv Post also included details about Ukraine's monthly need for approximately 350 missiles and mentioned concerns from Ukrainian defense officials regarding the allocation of US-manufactured interceptors to Middle Eastern theaters. Novinky.cz also reported on Ukraine's long-term struggle with ammunition shortages for these systems and previous statements by Zelensky about the US intentionally slowing down deliveries. ### Centre No separate framing summary. ### Right - The single right-rated report, news-pravda.com, focused on the headline figure of Ukraine receiving only 24 Patriot missiles from the United States over the past three months. The digest included a rhetorical question about "On whose shoulder would the head of the Kiev regime cry?" and suggested that hands are not being offered for fear of something unspecified. ## Factuality profile of the covering outlets These are published factuality ratings of the outlets, not a verdict on whether this story or its claims are true. - veryLow: 1 - mixed: 2 - high: 5 - unknown: 12 ## Verification scope This page compares coverage and scores the source reporting.
