Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the United States is delaying the delivery of some vital military supplies. In a post on the social media platform X, Zelensky attributed these delays to the US Department of Defense. He also indicated that certain political agreements concerning air defence supplies have not been put into practice. ## Disagreement on missile delivery rates Several reports indicate that Ukraine has paid for Patriot missiles but is not receiving them, or is receiving them at a reduced rate. Some reports mention Ukraine receiving only 12 Patriot missiles per month, a significant decrease from previous rates. Other reports do not specify a monthly rate but state that Ukraine has paid for the weapons but only part of the supplies have been agreed upon or delivered. ## What the coverage left out None of the left, centre, or right-rated reports below mention the specific political agreements on air defence supplies that President Zelensky stated had not been implemented in practice. ## Who covered it Shares of the 18 covering outlets with a published leaning rating: - Left: 56% (10) - Centre: 22% (4) - Right: 22% (4) 45 of 63 covering outlets carried no usable leaning rating and were excluded from those percentages. These reports highlighted that Ukraine has paid for Patriot missiles but is not receiving them, or is receiving them at a reduced rate. Several mentioned Ukraine receiving only 12 Patriot missiles per month, a significant decrease from previous rates. The Kyiv Independent and other outlets suggested these delays may be intended to pressure Kyiv. Some reports also noted Zelensky's request to the EU for 300 Patriot missiles due to dwindling stocks. ### Centre - Centre-rated reports focused on President Zelensky's claims about delayed US military supplies, particularly Patriot missiles. These reports noted that Ukraine has paid for the missiles but is not receiving them or is receiving them at a reduced rate. The Kyiv Independent and other outlets suggested that these delays might be a tactic to pressure Kyiv. Some reports also mentioned Zelensky's statement that Europe has the necessary Patriot interceptors to help Ukraine overcome the winter. ### Right - Right-rated reports highlighted President Zelensky's assertion that the United States is deliberately delaying the delivery of Patriot missiles to Ukraine. These reports mentioned that Ukraine has paid for the weapons but Washington has only agreed on part of the supplies. Some reports stated that Ukraine is currently supplied with only 12 Patriot missiles per month, which is four times less than under the Biden administration. One report noted Zelensky's statement that 'we are asking for the absolute minimum' regarding Patriot missiles. ## Factuality profile of the covering outlets These are published factuality ratings of the outlets, not a verdict on whether this story or its claims are true. - veryLow: 1 - mixed: 2 - high: 13 - unknown: 45 - veryHigh: 2 ## Verification scope This page compares coverage and scores the source reporting.
