# Elon Musk jokes about election funding after Republican losses

*Tech mogul comments on 'space lasers' after Democrats secure major wins*

**Scores for the source reporting** (0-100, assessing the original journalism this article was written from, not this write-up):

- Trust 42 of 100, higher is better. The central claim is attributed to Elon Musk, and the amount spent is cited by Ilta-Sanomat.
- Craft 59 of 100, higher is better. The story is clearly written and holds together, but lacks quotes from affected parties or a right of reply.
- Hype 65 of 100, lower is better. Headlines use loaded language like 'blew hundreds of millions up in smoke' and 'election-interfering space lasers'.
