**The short version**

- A book titled "The New Army of Shadows" by Pierre Gastineau, Antoine Isambard, and Frank Renault claims French President Emmanuel Macron has a secret bunker near Paris.
- The bunker is reportedly intended for the president's evacuation if protesters storm the Élysée Palace.
- Plans for such scenarios were accelerated after the 2018 Yellow Vest protests, according to the book.
- The book also discusses potential scenarios following the 2027 presidential elections, including victories for Marine Le Pen or Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

A secret bunker near Paris is reportedly available for French President Emmanuel Macron in the event of protesters storming the Élysée Palace, according to a book by journalists Pierre Gastineau, Antoine Isambard, and Frank Renault. The book, "The New Army of Shadows," suggests these evacuation plans were accelerated following the Yellow Vest protests in 2018.

The book also explores potential scenarios for the period after the 2027 presidential elections. It considers the implications of a victory for Marine Le Pen, suggesting it could lead to protests from radical left groups, and a victory for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, which might result in passive resistance within state structures. French intelligence services have reportedly simulated scenarios including election dispute and foreign interference.

## Disagreements on bunker preparation

The Daily Telegraph, as reported by fakti.bg, states that the plans for such scenarios were accelerated after the Yellow Vest protests in 2018. In.gr, also citing the book, states that preparations for the refuge were partly triggered by the Yellow Vest uprising in 2018. Internewscast reports that the book claims the French authorities have set up a secret bunker outside Paris where President Macron could be sheltered if rioters attacked the Élysée Palace. 20minutos reports that the security service of the President of the Republic began drawing up presidential evacuation plans following an attack suffered by Macron on a visit to Le Puy-en-Velay.
