Scored by MediaBias News; method at https://mediabias.news/methodology. **The short version** - Paolo Zampolli has been removed from his role as US Envoy for Global Partnerships. - His dismissal came after reports of an ongoing email dispute with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. - Landau had previously warned Zampolli to cease work not directly related to cultural diplomacy, citing unauthorized commercial activities. - Zampolli, a former modeling agent who introduced Melania to Donald Trump, stated that President Trump told him he was too good for modeling and brought him into real estate. Paolo Zampolli is no longer serving as the US Envoy for Global Partnerships. An official stated that Zampolli was notified of the end of his envoy status and is no longer a government employee. This development followed reports from Politico detailing months of email exchanges between Zampolli and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. ## Disagreement over Zampolli's activities and departure Corriere Della Sera reported that Landau had warned Zampolli on 14 November 2025 to cease all work not directly related to cultural diplomacy, accusing him of conducting unauthorized and possibly illegal commercial and economic activities, and threatening disciplinary action. Zampolli denied any illegal actions. He told Corriere Della Sera that he and Landau had a persistent issue, as Landau did not want to include the fight against fentanyl among his duties, which Zampolli felt strongly about. Zampolli also suggested Landau passed emails to Politico after a visit Zampolli made to the Balkans, where he met the leader of Republika Srpska. Zampolli stated that he did not receive money and accused Landau of passing emails to Politico. He recalled a statement by Trump about people who pass military revelations: 'In my opinion, they should be shot'. ## What the coverage left out None of the left-rated or centre-rated reports mentioned the specific date of 14 November 2025, which Corriere Della Sera cited for Christopher Landau's warning to Paolo Zampolli.
