US President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday, 24 October 2026, that he may move the White House press corps to a different location. He made these statements via a post on the social media platform Truth Social. Trump also dismissed reports that he planned to remove the White House press room and restore a historic swimming pool to the site. The president stated that he would never do something 'stupid' like restoring the pool. Multiple outlets reported Trump's confirmation of the potential move and his denial of the pool restoration plans. ## Disagreement on pool restoration While most reports indicate Trump denied plans to restore a historic swimming pool, one digest from Life.ru stated that Trump denied he was going to move the press briefing room but admitted he was entitled to do so. This digest did not mention the pool. ## What the coverage left out None of the digests mention the specific date of the social media post, other than the general confirmation of 'today' or 'Saturday'. The digests also do not specify the exact location Trump might move the press corps to, nor do they detail the nature of the reports he was dismissing beyond the removal of the press room and restoration of a pool. ## Who covered it Shares of the 20 covering outlets with a published leaning rating: - Left: 15% (3) - Centre: 30% (6) - Right: 55% (11) 16 of 36 covering outlets carried no usable leaning rating and were excluded from those percentages.
