## How the sides framed it

### Left

- Six left-rated reports led on the confrontation at the UN and the subsequent expulsion. These reports highlighted the exchange between US Ambassador Mike Waltz and Cuban officials. Atlanta Black Star quoted Waltz saying, ‘Back Up!’ and described him as exploding. TeleSUR reported that Cuba denounced the UN for "harassment" of one of its diplomats by the US, and that Washington announced the expulsion accusing the diplomat of attempting to physically assault US staff. Mediaite focused on the diplomat being expelled after a confrontation with Trump's UN Ambassador.

### Centre

- Eight centre-rated reports focused on the expulsion of the Cuban diplomat, often leading with the headline "Trump administration kicks out Cuban diplomat from US as tensions rise." These reports stated that US Ambassador Mike Waltz said the Trump administration was ejecting the diplomat. They noted the ejection followed a shouting match at the UN General Assembly. Several of these reports, including those from KIFI, KRDO, KVIA, KEYT, KESQ, KMIZ, and KION Central Coast, attributed their reporting to CNN. Lietuvos Radijas ir Televizija noted the expulsion as another sign of deteriorating relations.

### Right

- Seven right-rated reports highlighted the accusation of assault and the subsequent expulsion. Life and Liberty reported that the Cuban diplomat was accused of violent behaviour at the UN. Yonhap News Agency stated the diplomat clashed with its US counterpart and was accused of attempting to assault a US diplomat. Florida's Voice reported that US envoy Mike Waltz said a Cuban diplomat would be sent back to Havana after a confrontation. Next News Network quoted Ambassador Stefanik vowing the diplomat would be on a flight back to Havana and warning the UN would not be used for propaganda under President Trump. Zero Hedge's headline stated "Chaos Erupts At UN As Mike Waltz Gets Into Screaming Match With Cuban Diplomat, U.S. Staffer Allegedly Assaulted."
