The U.S. Department of Defense has released its seventh collection of declassified documents concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena. Among these is a report detailing an encounter by FBI agents with a black, triangular object. This object was observed to have no visible means of propulsion and emitted no sound. According to one document within the release, the object was recorded traveling at a speed of nearly 2,900 km/h over a sensitive U.S. site. The craft reportedly ascended vertically, hovered, and then accelerated rapidly before disappearing. The capabilities described exceed those of known technology. ## Disagreement on sighting details While multiple reports mention a black triangular object, details about its location and specific actions vary. CiberCuba states the object was observed by FBI agents. La Vanguardia and Telemundo outlets report UFO sightings from the 20th century, with several in California. Operation Disclosure Official describes federal agents observing a silent black triangular craft over a sensitive site. Thanh Niên reports a black, triangular object flying over a sensitive area in the US before disappearing. IBTimes UK notes conflicting timelines and a lack of physical evidence for the sighting. ## What the coverage left out None of the centre-rated outlets reported on this story. The digests provided did not include specific names of FBI agents involved in the sighting, nor did they detail the exact location of the sensitive U.S. site mentioned. ## Who covered it Shares of the 15 covering outlets with a published leaning rating: - Left: 20% (3) - Centre: 20% (3) - Right: 60% (9) 35 of 50 covering outlets carried no usable leaning rating and were excluded from those percentages. IBTimes UK highlighted the 'strange triangular craft operating in absolute acoustic silence' and noted that the sighting remained unresolved due to conflicting timelines and a lack of physical evidence. La Vanguardia mentioned Donald Trump's order to reveal information on the search for extraterrestrial life. ### Centre - All three centre outlets reported that the Pentagon issued its seventh tranche of unidentified anomalous phenomena files under the executive order signed by President Trump. The release contains a report of a large triangular craft observed by federal agents in the western United States, described as silent and non‑reflective. - CBS News led on the acoustic silence of the encounter, reproducing the agents’ statements that the object produced no sound or exhaust. It quoted the FBI statement describing a matte black, non‑reflective delta‑wing shape with a wingspan of roughly nine to fifteen feet and noted the vertical ascent and high‑speed departure. - Film Daily highlighted the technical detail of the two‑observer record, noting the use of a tripod‑mounted thermal camera and binoculars. It stressed the absence of any acoustic signature, the uniform thermal profile across the airframe, and the precise vertical climb of two to three hundred feet, presenting the data as a clean comparison point. - The New York Ledger digest only mentioned the release of the seventh file collection and the Trump‑issued executive order, without providing the craft description, acoustic silence or witness measurements that appear in the other centre reports. ### Right - Right-rated reports from WMAL-AF and The Western Journal framed the release as part of the Trump administration's efforts to make information available to Americans. WMAL-AF noted this was the Pentagon's seventh collection of UFO files since President Trump issued an executive order. TV Azteca stated the U.S. government complied with the seventh delivery of documents from the PURSUE program. **Provisional coverage gap:** left.
