British Columbia welcomed more than 100 Mexican firefighting personnel on 3 August 2026 to assist with 126 active wildfires, 53 of them out of control. Forests Minister Ravi Parmar announced over 200 additional personnel would arrive later in the week after 2,200 lightning strikes sparked 22 new fires.
