What we collect

• Newsletter subscribers. Your email address and the date you confirmed. Nothing else.
• Story tips. Whatever you choose to put in the form. Name, email and phone are all optional.
• Reading preferences. Dark mode, text size and saved articles are stored in your own browser and never sent to us.
• Server logs. Standard web request logs, kept briefly for security and debugging.
• Aggregate readership. We count page views with Umami, which we run on our own server. It sets no cookie, gives you no identifier that follows you between sites, and does not store your IP address — it is hashed to group one visit’s pages together and then discarded. There is nothing here to consent to, which is why this site asks you for nothing.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share your data.
• We do not run advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
• We do not put tracking pixels in the newsletter.
• We do not require an account to read anything.

Legal basis

Newsletter emails are sent on the basis of your consent, given by confirming a link, and withdrawn the moment you unsubscribe. Tips are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in journalism.

Who is responsible for your data

MediaBias News is published by Web Design Studio London Ltd (Company No. 17306308), registered in the United Kingdom. That company is the data controller, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 are exercised against it.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, wherever you live and whichever data-protection law applies to you. Write to editor@mediabias.news and we will action it within 30 days. Unsubscribing is immediate and needs no request. If we do not resolve it to your satisfaction, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Processors

• Email delivery is handled by Resend.
• Articles are produced with language models accessed through OpenRouter. Only public news text is sent to them — never subscriber or tip data.
• Readership is counted by Umami, running on the same server as this site. Nothing about your visit is sent to a third party, and no advertising or analytics company receives it.
