Wild horses sold for slaughter despite federal protection, reports say

Thousands of federally protected wild horses are reportedly being sold for slaughter, according to a New York Times investigation. A loophole in the Bureau of Land Management's sales program allows animals to be purchased and then sent to slaughterhouses, primarily outside the US.
