Israel’s Mossad director Roman Gofman dismissed two senior officials after a plan to topple Iran’s government, developed with US coordination, either failed or never progressed. The officials, appointed in December, led the agency’s intelligence directorate and Iran division. Iran’s president later accused the US and Israel of plotting a 48-hour takeover.
