Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide met Pakistani officials in Islamabad on 13 August 2026, commending Pakistan’s mediation of the April ceasefire that ended the US-Israel attack on Iranian nuclear sites. Eide said the war violated international law and stressed shared interest in keeping the Strait of Hormuz open.
