German General Carsten Breuer has been elected as the new chair of NATO's Military Committee. The election, held in Copenhagen on 19 September 2026, saw Breuer succeed Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone. Breuer is expected to take up the role in mid-2027.
