Joel Shapiro's 24-foot-tall sculpture 'Blue' has been purchased by former Kennedy Center chairman David Rubenstein for approximately $2 million. The artwork was removed from the Kennedy Center on September 2, 2026, and is slated for display at the National Gallery of Art.
