Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has cleared a Toronto police officer of wrongdoing after the officer shot a suspect. The suspect had earlier fatally shot Const. Marc Pinizzotto during a raid in June 2026. The SIU stated officers had no alternative but to use lethal force.
