Ontario Premier Doug Ford has asked Prime Minister Mark Carney to extend the federal fuel excise tax suspension, set to expire after Labour Day, until at least January 2027. The tax break saves 10 cents per litre on gasoline and four cents on diesel. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre also opposes reinstating the tax.
