A nurse from Alaska who carried a baby for a California couple is being sued for over $100,000 after refusing to terminate the pregnancy when the fetus was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. The biological parents allege breach of contract, while the surrogate says she acted to protect the child’s life. A Texas court will hear custody and parentage disputes on 25 August.
