Francesca Hong, a Democratic socialist running for governor of Wisconsin, has walked back a 2021 social media post urging people to "cancel Thanksgiving" over its colonial history. In a recent interview, she called it her "favourite holiday" but did not directly answer whether she still believes it should be scrapped.
