• The 10 centre-rated digests also led on the union’s argument that the cuts put Canadians at risk. They carried the same figures for staff reductions and the same description of the work affected. City News and Battlefords NOW, whose full reports are printed below, used the identical headline “Public service cuts putting Canadians at risk from climate disasters: union.”
• The City News report included a photograph of a helicopter dropping water on a wildfire near Fintry, British Columbia, on 3 August 2026.
