Ghent University suspended Nathan Cofnas, a researcher who accused the late Cambridge professor Jason Arday of plagiarism, after opening a disciplinary inquiry. Cofnas, who describes himself as a 'race realist', was previously dismissed from Cambridge in 2024. Arday died in mid-August amid the allegations.

Trust 58A nurse from Alaska who carried a baby for a California couple is being sued for over $100,000 after refusing to terminate the pregnancy when the fetus was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. The biological parents allege breach of contract, while the surrogate says she acted to protect the child’s life. A Texas court will hear custody and parentage disputes on 25 August.

In May 2021, then-acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock emailed Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins about reports of unusual health problems following COVID-19 vaccination, warning that existing surveillance systems might miss them.
