Colombia requests US tariff suspension after earthquake devastates western cities

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella requested a temporary suspension of US tariffs on Colombian products after a 7.4-magnitude earthquake killed nearly 300 people and destroyed 13,000 homes. The US had raised tariffs from 10% to 12.5% in late July, days before the disaster.
