Kenya triples renewable energy target to 5,500 MW, including nuclear power

Kenya has increased its long-term renewable energy capacity target from 1,500 MW to 5,500 MW, including 2,000 MW of nuclear power. While the country already generates 93% of its electricity from renewables, high costs and distribution losses could keep prices elevated despite the expansion.
