Human brain cells transplanted into mice to study disease

Scientists have successfully transplanted lab-grown human brain cells into genetically engineered mice, replacing portions of their cerebral cortex. This technique allows for the study of neurodegenerative diseases and human brain function in a more integrated biological system, with the altered mice showing improved cognitive and behavioural traits.
