Israeli forces entered the Lebanese village of Zawtar al-Gharbiya overnight on 8 August 2026 and built an earthen barrier near the town square, Lebanese state media and the local mayor reported. The village is designated a pilot zone under a June agreement requiring Israeli withdrawal and Lebanese army control.
